The Reds now have an opportunity to build on this result and win back what was becoming a rather frustrated and hostile Kop. Rodgers’ 3-5-2 formation can be beneficial for the Reds, everything seems to operate naturally, despite a few knots that can be ironed out overtime. Sturridge and Ings look fantastic together and can only get better, as this is only the second time the pair have played alongside each other.

Aston Villa Conclusion
This horrid nightmare for Aston Villa is beginning to look infinite, Sherwood needs to find answers and quick. There is not a whole lot they can take back to the Midlands, but the obvious standout is Gestede. He decimated Liverpool’s backline when the service was good and it is pivotal that the Benin big-man is present in the starting eleven and that Villa play to his strengths. As if his six foot four frame was not obvious enough already.
