Euro 2016 continues to deliver observers not only emotionally charged knockout encounters, but also some dream individual match-ups on the pitch.
In the build up to the Portugal vs Wales semi-final clash on Thursday morning, the gang at oulala.com have taken a look at key men Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, to see how they have compared at Euro 2016. Surprisingly, it is Ronaldo who dominates in seven of the eight key areas analysed.
Portugal’s star man has seen a little over an hour more of game time during the five games so far at the tournament, scoring twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Hungary and has one assist to his name compared to zero for Bale, who managed to find the net three times in the group stage, however.
Ronaldo comfortably leads the rest of the statistics though, taking 15 more shots on goal than the Welshman and creating double the number of chances to score for teammates. The at times controversial playmaker also has more completed passes and is drawing more fouls.
