James Caughlin wraps the movers and scorers ahead of this week’s squad announcement for Australia’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Tomi Juric, Rostyn Griffiths and Daniel De Silva – Roda JC [TRANSFERS]

The former Wanderers striker has finally made a decision on a team with a move to Dutch side Roda JC. Having had interest from several teams around Asia, Juric had his heart set on playing in Europe and his persistence paid off with a move to the recently promoted side. He will not be alone with Rostyn Griffiths recently signing on from Perth Glory while Daniel De Silva has also joined the club. Griffiths played in the side’s first Eredivise game earlier this month, featuring for the full 90 minutes in their 3-1 win over Heracles. This weekend, he saw 74 minutes before being withdrawn as they went down to Vitesse having been reduced to 10 men just before half time. Hopes are high that Juric will come in and play immediately, but he may find himself as a substitute early on since he has been without a club and training on his own.

Nathan Burns – FC Tokyo [GOAL]

Burns is loving life in the J-League, playing a pivotal role in FC Tokyo’s 2-1 victory over Gamba Osaka on the weekend, getting involved with both of his side’s goals. He set up the first goal with a run in from the right-wing, beating his man and feeding a low ball to the near post which was prodded home by the striker. Gamba levelled in the second half before Burns scored what would turn out to be the winning goal. In a three on two situation, the defenders drifted towards the right-wing, leaving Burns unmarked at the far post where he was able to head home and secure the three points. This run of form is coming at a good time with the looming announcement of the squad to face Bangladesh.
