Both Teams need more finishing quality

In the first-half both teams had a number of chances, none of which were straightforward views on goal, but chances nonetheless and the coaches would want their respective strikers to have done better. The first of the key opportunities went to Carpi striker Jerry Mbakogu with a free header, but he did not read the timing and put it straight up in the air for a simple catches for Pepe Reina. Napoli also had plenty of chances that they need to finish in future games to keep moving up in the league. A number of sights at the end of the game, including a Jose Callejon offside goal, topped-off their scoreless night. Even the last attempt of the match to Carpi was a terribly sliced strike that put the corner post in danger.

One may not realise Carpi are newly promoted this season

Although currently sitting in 19th spot with just one point, watching Carpi did more than enough to hold their own last night. They performed well against a Serie A heavyweight and although early season form has not shown it, they could be a very difficult team to deal with for some of the other big teams in the league. Taking points here and there can heavily impact the other survival hopefuls around them, however, it may not mean they remain in the Serie A.
