Same old Napoli

Napoli fans will be extremely disappointed in the club’s performance against Carpi after playing an almost flawless match against Lazio only three days prior.

After holding a huge 80% possession and having ample opportunity to put a score on the board, the club went away from the match with just one point.

It is an all too familiar story for Napoli, somehow managing to play fantastic football against the more difficult clubs yet struggling to produce a positive result against the weaker sides in the league.

An improvement on last season would mean Napoli getting three points on a more regular basis.

Chievo may be the new dark horse for a top four finish

An unbelievable start to the 2014-15 season for the Gialloblu has continued into round five against an in-form Torino side. As featured in previous ‘things we learned’, this is mainly due to the success of the midfield trio Lucas Castro, Valter Birsa and Riccardo Meggiorini.

Their ability to hold possession against more talented opponents, coupled with a calm style of play has seen them sit in the top four positions of the table for the season to date.

Overcoming Torino is a major step forward for the club and the question should now be asked whether Chievo can play European football in 2016.
