PS4 AVPL Team of the Week – Hook, line and sinker as Gone Fishin players star

The AVPL produced another terrific week and here we take a close look at the best individual displays on PS4 this week. 

TOTW_PS4 (4) 

GK – Twitchy (Pied Piper FC)

After a week out of the Team of the Week, Twitchy returns to the starting eleven in week four after a decent outing for Pied Piper FC. The notorious shot stopper made a solid 15 saves in four matches, while also keeping the single clean sheet to remain on track for team of the season honours.

CB – Jboat (Gone Fishin)

After plying his trade on the wing in previous seasons, the Like no OthA FC youth produce made the move to defence at new club Gone Fishin, reaping the rewards in an impressive season to date. The central defender, who can also operate at right back, kept three clean sheets in four, while also making three tackles to earn a spot in the team of the week.

CB – Jerome90 (Gone Fishin) 

Coupled in the heart of defence with fellow team of the week member Jboat, Jerome90 has flourished in his debut AVPL season so far. While his career didn’t get off to the best of starts, he has quickly turned it around as he gradually earns himself the reputation as one of the up and coming defenders on AUSFIFA. His five tackles in four matches are a testament to his ability.

CB – zoki25 (Mighty Fuchs)

Making up the last spot in the back three is Zoki, who has relished a move from XBOX to PS4. At no point in time did the transition look a hard one for the AVPL veteran, with his experience playing a major role in Mighty Fuchs charge to the finals. The defender played a big role in keeping two clean sheets in four matches in week four.

LM – Lemon2528 (Mighty Fuchs) 

Part of the controversial AngerManagement side that pulled the plug right before the season started, Lemon moved to Mighty Fuchs in a last minute transfer and so far it has paid dividends. The midfielder proved to difficult to hand for opposing clubs in week four, scoring once and setting up four as Mighty Fuchs moved towards a finals position.

CM – mizz0o (Big Orses) 

A pretty good week for the Big Orses star as Mizzo turned into a goal scoring midfielder. He netter four times for the heavyweights while also assisting twice to prove his worth for last season’s runner up’s.

CM – ibaz (Gone Fishin)

Another one who is a part of the controversial AngerManagement side alongside Lemon, ibaz was a standout in week four of the AVPL, scoring two and assisting two as Gone Fishin moved up the table. He also showed his defensive qualities, making nine tackles in the process.

RM – ICYRX8 (Pied Piper FC)

One of the best head to head players on AUSFIFA, the inaugural Fox Fans League champion was tipped for big things this season as a striker. He never quite got going at the point of the attack, but his move to a more regular role in midfield proved fruitful in week four, scoring twice and assisting once while also making 11 tackles.

LF – LordFARCuaad (Mighty Fuchs)

There were high expectations on Farcuaad in pre-season when the striker crossed from XBOX to PS4, and it’s fair to say that his season has been mediocre at best. However, the Mighty Fuchs star turned his season around in week four, scoring a very impressive seven goals in just the four matches while also adding an assist.

RF – Woriiiiiii (FullManualOnly)

It was a good week for the FullManualOnly striker, who has impressed in his debut AVPL season. The rookie netted an acknowledgeable three times and four matches to take his season tally to seven. He also assisted twice for the mid table outfit.

ST – Youngy148 (Gone Fishin)

A mammoth week for Youngy148 sees the Gone Fishin striker entrench himself in the golden boot race. A star of the AVPL, Youngy banged in a huge nine goals in just four matches this week, finishing the week in second on the golden boot leaderboard.

Performance of the Week – Hash_14 (Guunneerz), Round 17

HeroCard_PS4 (3) 

A sensational performance from Guunneerz striker Hash, who put on a display for the ages in their round 17 clash against Neverlusin FC. Everything the striker touched to gold, with Hash ending up scoring all four of Gunneerz goals. He also laid three tackles, showing just how hard he worked.
