Manchester City
Joe Hart – 4: Made an absolute hash of Robbie Brady’s cross to gift Jerome the equaliser after he failed to collect the ball and instead dropped it on a plate for an easy tap in.
Bacary Sagna – 6: Not a bad outing for the Frenchman, although he could have done more to support in attack.
Nicolas Otamendi – 8: The Argentine was superb throughout the game whether it be in defence or attack. A solid defensive performance was capped-off with a stunning header to give City the lead.
Vincent Kompany – 6.5: It was the first match that Kompany started in which City conceded, albeit through no fault of his own. Was solid at the back alongside Otamendi.
Aleksandar Kolarov – 5: Was forced to focus on his defensive duties rather than attack and will be gutted to have missed a late penalty after putting his shot wide of the post.
Yaya Toure – 7: Was at his usual best throughout the game and always seemed likely to make the difference. And so he did – by converting the penalty that won his side the game.
Fernandinho – 6: His performances in the centre of midfield have been consistent throughout the season, but occasionally lacked the legs to cope with the Canaries’ pace.
Kevin De Bruyne 7: Was involved almost every time City went forward. His set-piece ability was top-notch as always and played in the corner that led to Otamendi’s goal. Was replaced by Fernando for the final 15 minutes or so.
Kelechi Iheanacho – 6: A steady performance from the youngster who replaced Raheem Sterling in the starting lineup, Was replaced by the Englsh international in the second-half.
Jesus Navas – 7: While he might not score too many goals, he does prove to be a threat in attack. His combination-play is continuing to improve.
Wilfried Bony – 5: Held-up the ball well on quite a few occasions but was poor in front of goal. Should have got his name on the scoresheet.
Substitutes
Fernando – 6: Replaced De Bruyne towards the end to provide a more defensive cover and did a good job.
Martin Demichelis – N/A: Replaced Toure in the dying minutes to help see out the win.
Raheem Sterling– 6: Came on for the second-half and had his moments to shine. It was his shot that was blocked by Martin’s hand.
