Leicester City

Kasper Schmeichel – 7: Was outstanding between the sticks and showed tremendous confidence against his former team. Made a brilliant save to deny Fernando from close range.

Danny Simpson – 6: Did well in defence and going forward as well. His poor back pass late on in the game nearly gifted Aguero a second though.

Robert Huth– 8.5: Apart from scoring two very important goals, the big German was rock solid in defence, putting in a man-of-the-match performance.

Wes Morgan – 7: Was equally good as Huth in defence and martialled his back-line brilliantly.

Cristian Fuchs – 7: Strong at the back and excellent in attack. He also provided the assist for Huth’s second.

N’Golo Kante – 7: Proving to be one of the best midfielders in the league. Was quick to cut out any City threats with an exceptional performance

Marc Albrighton – 6: Like most of the Leicester players, he was as good in attack as he was when defending. Put in a few dangerous crosses that caused trouble for the host defenders.

Danny Drinkwater – 6.5: Sat well alongside Kante and defended resolutely. He also initiated a number of his side’s counter-attacks.

Shinji Okazaki– 6.5: Was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as the Japanese international caused chaos in the City defence alongside Vardy.

Riyadh Mahrez –8: The Algerian was once again on top form, creating the first goal while causing havoc down the wings. Scored an absolute stunning goal at the start of the second-half, showing excellent pace, trickery and execution.

Jamie Vardy – 7.5: Caused problems in the City defence who just could not handle the Englishman’s speed and skill. Despite not adding to his impressive goal tally, Vardy was still one of the best performers on the pitch.

Substitutes

Nathan Dyer – N/A: Came on in place of Albrighton towards the end of the game.

Demarai Gray – 5: Replaced Mahrez towards the end but didn’t get too involved as his side sat back to see out the victory.

Leo Ulloa – N/A: Replaced Okazaki to help his side see out the win.
