Perth Glory claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over the Phoenix in a rather uninspired Long Distance derby earlier this afternoon.
The Glory would take the lead in the 21st minute, with Nebosja Marinkovic’s cross headed home by Chris Harold at the far post.

How Twitter reacted to Melbourne Victory’s 1-1 draw with Western Sydney Wanderers
A seemingly aimless Wellington side had little to offer in reply after the goal, with key players such as Roly Bonevacia unusually wasteful in possession. The host’s best chances to level the score may have come in the first-half, while Perth were happy to sit back and scrape the win.
Fans on either side were not especially thrilled after the display, although Perth fans were thankful for the three points. On the other hand, the Phoenix faithful may have seen their 2015-16 fall by the wayside.
Here are the best reactions to come from Twitter after the match:

This is pure crud. Probably only 4 players out there who could honestly collect their pay cheques unsheepishly this week. #WELvPER

We've got huge problems. No cohesion, no confidence, sloppy defending, not taking chances. It's gonna be a long season. #COYN #WELvPER
