Adelaide United

Eugene Galekovic – 7: Brought a calmness to the Adelaide side with his return to the team. Helped steady the team defensively.

Tarek Elrich – 8.5: Played a wonderful ball through for Adelaide’s third goal and stands out as one of the leaders on the field for the Reds. Will be hoping to push for Socceroos selection again.

Iacopo La Rocca – 8: His partnership with McGowan looks to centre around strength, and against the diminutive Brisbane forward line this worked to a large extent. The two defenders were solid all night.

Dylan McGowan – 7.5: Yellow card at the end of the first half settled down the centre-back, was careful in the tackle. Played well throughout the second half and looked at home next to the La Rocca.

Jordan Elsey – 7: Did well to contain Broich, looked to get forward but mostly focused on the defensive side of his game.

Isaias – 7: Gave away the penalty in controversial circumstances but recovered well to finish the match strongly.

Marcelo Carrusca – 7: Wonderful goal to finish the game as his influence grew as the game went on. Showed his quality in the end.

George Mells – 7.5: Played the defensive midfielder role more so throughout the game, and fitted in perfectly to the Adelaide set up after the early goal.

Craig Goodwin – 8: Had a wonderful battle with Hingert, was sought after by the Adelaide midfield throughout the game with long diagonal balls. Played a wonderful cross into the box for the opening goal.

Bruce Djite – 9: Dropped deep at times throughout the game searching for possession and pressed Brisbane’s defenders well. Played the target man role well and scored two well deserved goals, was Adelaide’s best forward.

Pablo Sanchez – 7: Was at the centre of Adelaide’s opening goal, caused problems down the wing and combined well with Elsey.

Substitutes

Mate Dugandzic – 6: Largely defensive effort from the winger as Adelaide looked to secure the points.

Eli Babalj – 5: Heartbreak for the striker as he quickly exited the field following his substitution with what appeared to be a serious leg injury.

Bruce Kamau – 4: Came on for the injured Babalj, not enough time to have an effect on the game.
