Perth Glory

Ante Covic – 7: Could do little about the late own goal, and was barely tested by Adelaide otherwise.

Josh Risdon – 7: Strong at the back as usual despite facing a pair of tricky customers in Craig Goodwin and Cirio. Would have liked to have got forward more.

Dino Djulbic – 8: Man of the match. Brilliant in defence again, constantly on hand to deal with any danger and made a super series of blocks in the second-half.

Michael Thwaite – 7: Another strong game from the former captain. Made some timely interventions in his own area and refused to let Cirio have a yard of space.

Marc Warren – 7: Continued from where he ended against Melbourne City, and proved to be a solid choice at left-back again.

Diogo Ferreira – 5: Very quiet game in the middle of the park. Did not get on the ball much and could have shielded the Perth defence better in the second-half when Adelaide were pressing. An own goal rounded-off a disappointing day.

Gyorgy Sandor – 7: Proving to be an excellent offseason acquisition by the Glory. His passing was top-notch, best evidenced by his perfectly weighted pass to Sidnei for the opening goal. His composure on the ball was the catalyst for Perth’s second-half counter-attacking.

Nebojsa Marinkovic- 7: Comfortable in possession and worked well alongside Sandor. Tended to go missing for patches in the first-half, but grew in influence as the game went on.

Chris Harold – 6: Used his pace well to stretch Adelaide’s defence, but was unable to provide any meaningful service. replaced at halftime.

Richard Garcia – 7: Had a tough time up against the pace and power of Tarek Elrich and struggled to get involved in the early game. However, found more space as time wore on and supplied two perfect balls for Fernandez and Castro’s goals.

Sidnei – 6: Had a tough first-half, although it was mostly down to his team’s lack of possession. Took his goal well, both the timing of the run and the composed finish.

Substitutes

Guyon Fernandez – 7: Was isolated up front against the strength and size of Osama Malik and Dylan McGowan, but took his first goal for his new club exceptionally well. Nearly had an assist, only for Castro to fluff his lines. His best game yet for the club, but his work rate could still improve.

Diego Castro – 7: Looks to be an excellent buy alongside Sandor. His footwork was immaculate and rounded off a nice performance with a goal, although he should have buried his late chance.

Mitch Oxborrow – N/A: Came on for the last few minutes to shutdown any late opposition charge.
