Matias Fernandez (Fiorentina vs Frosinone)

Fernandez is the second of a high-flying la Viola side to make our top five this week and for very good reason.

It was a complete performance from the Chilean, involved in three of Fiorentina’s four first-half goals and having some shots at the net of his own. Unbelievably, every single one of his passes hit a target, a feat that has not been achieved so far this Serie A season for someone playing all 90 minutes of a match.

The 29-year-old has been used sparingly this season, mostly due to resuming preseason training late due to his Copa America commitments, however, with performances such as this, Paulo Sousa will have some selection headaches next week.

Riccardo Meggiorini (Chievo vs Sampdoria)

Meggiorini has been a key component in Chievo’s 2015 team and although the side has not taken the rewards in any of their last six matches, the 30-year-old has been one to try and buck the trend.

Meggiorini kept his cool to deal with a awkward cross and slot a goal past Emiliano Viviano, meanwhile providing the assist for Chievo’s other shot on target for the match.

He will be asking his team to rally if they are to conclude the season successfully.
