The gang had the pleasure of speaking to Newcastle Jets keeper Ben Kennedy on the Daily Football Show.

Fresh off his side’s solid start to the season, Kennedy has found himself as the first-choice keeper again following Mark Birighitt’s shocking facial injury against Sydney FC.

Kennedy said new manager Scott Miller was a breath of fresh air at the club, given last season’s struggles both on and off the pitch.

The Jets defeated last season’s A-League champions 1-0 last Friday night in what was a shock result to the Australian football public, but an almighty confidence boost for the club who have six points from a possible nine.

The 28-year-old may be required to take up the gloves again on Friday night against Melbourne City at AAMI Park should Birighitti be ruled out again.

Following last week’s clean sheet, Kennedy said he was ready to do his bit to help the team and was confident in his own form.
