Giovinco dazzles as TFC begin crucial home stand
Saturday night saw a faltering Toronto FC claim a crucial 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids, that could ease some nerves heading into a vital run of four more games at home. Comfortably siting fifth, their first ever playoff classification is all but ensured.
As has been the case throughout the season, the three points owed largely to the continued brilliance of star DP forward Sebastian Giovinco. The ‘Atomic Ant’ scored twice and assisted another to continue his seemingly incontestable charge to this season’s league MVP.
Though what would have been even more heartening was the improved contributions from the likes of Damian Perquis, Benoit Cheyrou and in particular, Jonathan Osorio.
With this only being game one of the final regular season stretch, the signs are that Toronto looks set to at long last join the playoff party.
