Melbourne Victory could be set to bring another former player back to the club with Kevin Muscat to hold talks with New Zealand international Marco Rojas about a possible return.

German club Stuttgart released Rojas overnight and Goal Australia is reporting that the 24-year-old already has the meeting scheduled with Muscat for later this week.

If Rojas was to return to the club, it would be the second signing of a former player this transfer window after the reigning FFA Cup winners secured the services of midfielder James Troisi.

Muscat has dealt with Rojas in a coaching capacity before as he was an assistant coach during the Kiwi’s time at the club.

In his second season with the Victory (2012-13), the winger was crowned the Johnny Warren medallist having finished the campaign with 15 goals from 27 appearances.

The New Zealand winger joined Stuttgart back in May 2013 where he failed to make a senior team appearance enjoying loan spells with Greuther Furth and Swiss side FC Thun.

To date, Rojas has won 25 caps for his national side and would become the fourth international player on the Victory’s roster if he is to sign.
