Slovakia defender Jan Durica has slammed match officials following his side’s 1-0 loss to England, claiming the result was fixed.

New England manager Sam Allardyce got his England career off to the perfect start as Adam Lallana scored an injury time winner, against the 10 men of Slovakia who had former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel sent off for a crude stamp on Harry Kane.

Durica, 34, went further to say that England must be ensured of progression to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

“There is only one place at the World Cup. Why should Slovakia go there when we have England in the group?” Durica told reporters.

“Of course, they will always prefer the stronger team. Probably, the referee exactly knew how to do it.

“Today we might have played more than England.

Durica was not the only party aggrieved with refereeing decisions, as Kane commented on the conduct of Skrtel throughout.

“I felt the stamp. The ankle is OK now. I will have a check on it and see if it’s fully OK, but there were a few challenges that I felt could have earned him a yellow card but it didn’t come,” he told reporters.
