Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann has said he would only consider a move away from the club if manager Diego Simeone was to leave.
Griezmann, 25, signed a new deal with the Madrid club in June, having been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.
“The only doubt would be if (Diego) Simeone leaves for PSG or wherever. I called him before extending my contract and he confirmed to me that he was staying,” the Frenchman told French TV programme Telefoot.
“I can learn a lot from him. PSG are not my goal at the moment. I’m happy in Spain. I’m always proud to be popular with the fans. I try to smile and do my best. If they like it, it’s even better.”
Griezmann has been a revelation under the reign of Simeone at the Vicente Calderon since making the move from Real Sociedad back in 2014, scoring 57 goals in all competitions.
Atletico will be hoping to claim their first three points of the season when they travel to face Celta Vigo on Saturday.
