Fifteen minutes of madness with goals from Raheem Sterling and Wilfried Bony saw Manchester City top Champions League Group D while Borussia Monchengladbach were sensationally dumped out of Europe.

An early David Silva strike was cancelled out by Julian Korb’s equaliser for Gladbach before Raffael put the visitors ahead going into half-time.

City came out the far better side in the second half, but it took until the 78th minute for their dominance to show. Two goals between the 78th and 80th minutes for birthday boy Sterling saw an incredible turnaround in the game, before Bony added the icing to the cake just moments later.

Joe Hart still had work to do, making a couple of great saves later on, but as Sevilla defeated Juventus in Italy, City went top and Gladbach bottom, meaning their hopes of dropping to the Europa League were dashed.
