Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic is keen to see out the remainder of his contract at the Nou Camp after rejecting several offers from abroad during the transfer window.

Rakitic current contract runs until the end of the 2018/19 season, but new signings Denis Suarez and Andre Gomes have added competition for places in the middle of the park.

Mundo Deportivo reporting via Goal claimed the Croatia international rejected the approaches of Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester United during the summer.

Rakitic has grown into an important player with the reigning La Liga champions, but last season reportedly grew frustrated with how often he was substituted.

Manager Luis Enrique elected to withdraw Rakitic from matches 25 times throughout the course of last season.

The club is reportedly set to secure the future of the midfielder, alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez by offering the trio new deals.

Enrique has elected to use the midfielder in all of his side’s game thus far this season, including the 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao where Rakitic grabbed the winner for his side.
