The final Melbourne derby of the regular 2015-16 A-League season ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw, filled with great goals and all the controversy one could hope for

Despite Kevin Muscat’s men controlling the early momentum, Bruno Fornaroli would give City the lead just after 20 minutes, starting off a swift counter with a brilliant rabona and then fortunately receiving it back in the box to finish with a chip.

A magic 25-yard finish from Ben Khalfallah equalised the scoreline on the half-hour but any joy was short-lived for the Victory, falling behind again just moments later as Fornaroli nodded home an Aaron Mooy set-piece.

Controversy would take over after Gui Finkler levelled the match again early in the second-half, with a goal disallowed for the Victory when the ball had clearly crossed the line, while Anthony Caceres saw his second red card since moving to Victoria with just over 10 minutes remaining. With all the late drama though, the sides had to settle with a heated share of the spoils
