The final instalment of the Dodoni series saw the Socceroos go down 2-1 to a classy Greek outfit in front of 33,622 spectators at Etihad Stadium.

Petros Mantalos opened the scoring for the visitors after capitalising on some sloppy midfield play from the Socceroos, but it was his team-mate who truly stole the show with a long-range effort. Truly, long range.

Giannis Maniatis caught everyone in attendance, including Socceroos goalkeeper Adam Federici by surprise with an effort from inside his own half on the 20 minute mark.

Trent Sainbury pulled one back for the Socceroos midway through the second half, and despite a flurry of late pressure after a host of substitutions, the 2004 European champions remained resolute to hold on.
