Liverpool have advanced to the third round of the League Cup, following a comprehensive 5-0 win away to Championship outfit Burton Albion.
Divock Origi gave the visitors the lead on 15 minutes with a clever tap-in after Sadio Mane’s fine piece of skill and subsequent cross.
Seven minutes later and Liverpool doubled their advantage thanks to a headed goal from Roberto Firmino.
After half-time an own goal from Burton defender Tom Naylor all but confirmed the Reds would clinch victory and Daniel Sturridge put the icing on the cake late on when he converted a brace.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter:
Henderson is rotten. Passing all over the shop, rarely affective and this is the Liverpool captain. He's a sub at best for a top 4 team #LFC

Mane is exactly what #LFC needed! Bargain at 30 million in today's market! Will get more goals and assists than Pogba at 90 million lol 🙊🙈👍🏻

If we could only buy another player like Mane for the other side and have the two raiding down each flank we would be awesome #lfc #ynwa

Embarrassing when you need to play your strongest 11 again Burton. Now we face an injury scare for 3 of our starting 11!! #Lfc

Daniel Sturridge = Still very good at the football #LFC

Good win but still have to say Henderson was our worst player #LFC

That's what I want to see from Matip. Clearing off the line in the 91st minute to preserve a clean sheet up 5-0. #LFC #YNWA

If Sturridge is fit, he's one of the best in the business. Look at his stats. Numbers don't lie. They're better than Suarez & Torres at #LFC

#LFC starting this season just like last; so inconsistent. Quality again tonight! #Mane looks like some signing! Big game against #THFC sat!

Of course, Studgie, Mané, Coutinho and Firmino need more time together. DS up front with them 3 behind will be proper entertainment. #LFC

I would rather lose this match than lose Emre Can and Divock Origi for a considerable amount of time. Liverpool are cursed. #LFC
