On the biggest night in their history FC Midtjylland defeated a lacklustre Manchester United 2-1 in their Europa League round of 32 first leg.
The away side took the lead in Denmark, after Memphis Depay bundled the ball home following a well weighted cross from Jesse Lingard on 37 minutes.
However, the Red Devils were pegged back just a minute before the half-time interval when Michael Carrick carelessly gave the ball away in midfield.

Key talking points from Real Madrid’s 2-0 Champions League win over AS Roma
Pione Sisto pounced on the loose ball, broke with pace towards the box and unleashed an emphatic finish pass stand-in goalkeeper Sergio Romeo.
The Danish champions continually threatened in the second half and they got their just rewards on 77 minutes when Paul Onuachu worked some space for himself on the edge of the box and thundered in a low drive past an out-stretched Romero.
It was a night to saviour for Midtjylland and yet another of despair for United, who are experiencing a torrid campaign.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter:
2-1 f-t. Pathetic from #mufc. Outplayed by a team who hadn’t played for 2 months. Lack of leadership, tackling and heart. Lifeless under LVG

Midtjylland’s playing budget for 2014/15 – wages and transfers – was £7m. #mufc‘s wage bill £203m so total spend over £300m.
