Manchester United have already shown that they are serious about this summer’s transfer window.
Having already made the blockbuster signing of iconic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic official, the attention of Jose Mourinho and the board is reportedly turning to other targets – such as Juventus star Paul Pogba and Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
With Mkhitaryan’s move to Old Trafford gathering pace, the gang at oulala.com took a look at four of his key stats from 2015-16 and compared them to four Manchester United stars, to see how the Armenian fares.
It its not difficult to see why the playmaker is on the radar for the English giants, outclassing all of the side’s current attackers over all areas.
The 27-year-old recorded a total of 11 goals in the Bundesliga last season – equalling the number from United’s top scorer for 2015-16 in Anthony Martial. More impressive though are Mkhitaryan’s 15 assists for his Dortmund teammates, more the output of Red Devils veteran Wayne Rooney and triple the amount from Juan Mata.
Fans will hope the Armenian’s ability to terrorise defenders can translate over to England, with his 84 successful take-ons only matched by Martial, while the rest of United’s midfielders fall far below-par in this respect.
