Cesc Fabregas has been offered an escape from Stamford Bridge with AC Milan interested in the midfielder, SportItalia reports.

Having been benched by new Blues coach Antonio Conte, Fabregas is reportedly keen on a move to the Serie A with his future at Stamford Bridge heavily clouded.

Fabregas has found himself behind Nemanja Matic and new signing N’Golo Kante in the midfield pecking order early in the season.

However, the report indicates the Spaniard has not fallen out with former Italy manager Conte.

As a further benefit to Chelsea, Milan are willing to pay his wage for the season as they look to bolster their faltering midfield.

Fabregas has played 72 games and scored eight goals since his move in 2014. Prior to this, he enjoyed tenures at Arsenal and FC Barcelona, with 105 caps for Spain.

Milan and recently installed gaffer Vincenzo Montella have already signed Jose Sosa this window, starting the Serie A season with one win and one loss.
