With less than 24 hours remaining in the summer transfer window, Premier League clubs are scrambling to finalise their squads for the first-half of the season.
Arsenal fans had been calling out all the summer for the signing of a striker and defender, which Arsene Wenger has finally delivered. The Gunners have confirmed the arrival of 27-year-old striker Lucas Perez, who scored 19 goals across all competitions last season for Deportivo La Coruna in Spain’s La Liga.

The Londoners then confirmed the signing of Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia, bringing some Premier League experience having played for Everton in the past. The German international will add depth to a depleted defence, with Per Mertesacker and Gabriel missing through injury.

While two arrive at the club, one player is on the way out of the Emirates for 2016-17 at least. Middlesbrough have announced the capture of young defender Calum Chambers on a season-long loan, as Boro continue their impressive summer business.

Burnley completed the first deal of the day with the signing of striker Patrick Bamford from Chelsea on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old has not made an appearance for the Blues in the league, although he has been sent on loan to Crystal Palace and Norwich in the past.

Sunderland have confirmed a season-long move for winger Jeremain Lens to Turkey. The 28-year-old will link up with Fenerbahce having only joined the Black Cats last summer, but failed to find his best form throughout last 2015-16.

Crystal Palace have added another striker to their squad before the end of the transfer window, securing Loic Remy from Chelsea. The Frenchmen joins Alan Pardew’s side on a season-long loan and will be hoping to regain the type of form that saw him earn a move from Queens Park Rangers to Stamford Bridge.

Hull have finally made their mark on the market, completing their first three signings of the summer in the past 24 hours. The Tigers first announced a done deal for goalkeeper David Marshall on a three-year contract, who should slot into the No.1 role due to the injury of Allan McGregor.

The Tigers became the latest Premier League side to break their own transfer record this summer – the 12th in total. Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason became the club’s most expensive signing, as he linked up with Mike Phelan’s side on a three-year deal.

Manchester United striker Will Keane became the club’s third and final signing of the day, joining on a three-year deal. The 23-year-old struggled for form and fitness with the Red Devils, often finding himself shipped out on loan during his career.

Watford have completed a season-long loan move for Chelsea youngster Kenedy. The 20-year-old is tipped to have a bright future with the Blues, and is sure to earn valuable first-team experience with the Hornets.

It was also confirmed that Adrian Mariappa would be returning to Watford on a three-year contract from Crystal Palace. The 29-year-old has made 247 senior appearances already for the club, having come through the Hornets academy system.
