Valencia secured the signature of Munir El Haddadi from Barcelona on a season-long loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of this season for €12 million.

The deal saw target man Paco Alcacer, Valencia’s captain, move in the other direction for a reported fee of €30 million.

Barcelona have retained first right of refusal if Valencia decide to part ways with the forward.

Munir scored 10 goals in 45 appearances for Barcelona, and was capped for Spain during his time with the Catalan outfit, as well as being a regular in the under-21 set-up. The 20-year-old’s exit from Barcelona is the third this week, with Sergi Samper and Douglas making switches to La Liga outfits Granada and Sporting Gijon respectively.

After making his way through La Masia, Munir made his debut for Barcelona on August 24, 2014 against Elche in a 3-0 victory, with the youngster scoring the second goal of the contest.

His first team opportunities since have been sparse, and with Valencia a far more likely destination to find top flight opportunities, the young forward should be afforded more game time under boss Pako Ayestaran.
