Newcastle Jets have re-signed Serbian winger Enver Alivodic for the 2015-16 A-League season.

The 30-year-old attacker joined the club in February and featured in every game since debuting in Round 19 against the Central Coast Mariners.

Alivodic immediately impressed the club with strong performances and added another element to the Newcastle attack.

Head coach Phil Stubbins was ecstatic to have reached an agreement for a new deal and said the winger will be better with a full pre-season under his belt.

“When Enver arrived at the club, he hadn’t played a lot of football and was somewhat underdone in terms of his conditioning. But he adapted quickly and after a few weeks began to demonstrate what he can offer the club and team,” Stubbins said.

The Novi Pazar native scored two goals for the club and is looking forward to a more successful second season in Newcastle.

“I think we will show more next season, we were not happy to be last this season. In the final five games we showed that we can be better,” Alivodic said.

Earlier today the Jets also announced the signing of Tasmanian-born striker Andy Brennan from Victoria’s South Melbourne.
