Football Federation Australia has announced fuel giant Caltex Australia has secured a deal to become the Socceroos’ new naming rights partner, signing a four-year deal.

Caltex becomes the new name to be associated with the national team after Qantas opted to discontinue their contract as naming rights sponsor, a deal that ran for just over a decade.

FFA says the new agreement with Caltex will extend beyond naming rights and will be one that will “help develop the next generation of football stars” in conjunction with both the men’s and women’s teams.

FFA CEO David Gallop says he expects the partnership will ensure the Socceroos are as well prepared for the looming 2017 Confederations Cup and 2018 World Cup as possible.

“We are extremely thrilled that Caltex Australia has joined as naming rights partner of the Socceroos for the next four years,” Gallop said.

“This partnership comes at a time when the Caltex Socceroos are entering an incredibly exciting period as we build towards the 2018 World Cup.

“This partnership will help the Caltex Socceroos ensure they are well prepared as we look ahead to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.”

The Socceroos will continue their World Cup qualifying campaign on 24 March in Adelaide against Tajikistan before taking on Jordan at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium five days later.
