Mile Jedinak – Crystal Palace [GOAL]

The Socceroos captain got his preseason off to a good start by opening the scoring for Crystal Palace in their game match against South Africa’s Supersport United. He saw out the rest of the match and came through unscathed. Palace are currently touring South Africa in preparation for the upcoming league season.

Massimo Luongo – QPR [GOAL]

Luongo also got on the scoresheet, going to great lengths in winning over his new fans. With the ball being headed around the 18-yard box, Luongo leapt in front of a defender and thumped the ball into the back of the net from 12 yards out.

Adam Taggart – Fulham [GOAL]

Not to be outdone by his teammate, Adam Taggart also showed some areal prowess in his side’s preseason clash against Hertha Berlin. With Fulham down 2-0, Taggart was able to kick-start the recovery and help the Cottagers earn a 2-2 draw as they aim for Premier League promotion in 2015-16. Taggart finished off a game of headed volleyball in the penalty area after a cross to the left post was headed across the face of the goal before being centred for the Socceroos striker to pop up and score from close range.

James Holland – MSV Duisburg [TRANSFER]

Reports out of the German press suggest the Socceroos midfielder will be moving from Austria Wien to German side MSV Duisberg who have just been promoted to the Bundesliga. As it stands, his role is uncertain in terms of whether he will be a regular member of the starting XI or a squad player. Having been in Europe since January 2009, Holland has spent time at AZ Alkmaar who loaned him to Sparta Rotterdam in 2010-11 before moving to Austria Wien at the end of that season. The move paid great dividends as he established himself as a regular member of the team, registering 96 appearances over his four years with the club.

Harry Kewell – Watford [COACHIING APPOINTMENT]

While not a current member of the Socceroos set up, Kewell’s move into the coaching ranks is noteworthy. He joins Watford as their under 21s coach and will guide the team through its season in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South. Having established his own youth academy in Australia since his retirement, Kewell has shown a desire to assist with the development of young players. Success at this level could see Kewell find his way to a senior team before he knows it.
