Spanish forward Lucas Perez has competed a £17m move to the Emirates Stadium.
The 27-year-old had a stand-out season for La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruña last season, netting 19 goals across all competitions, including 17 in the league.
Perez spent time in Ukraine at Karpaty Lviv, and at PAOK in Greece before returning in 2014 to his native Spain to play for the Branquiazuis.
The North London side were in desperate need of a new striker heading into this new season, as to relieve the reliance on the inconsistent Olivier Giroud.
Arsene Wenger is positive their new man can make the desired impact and fit in with the Arsenal breed of football.
“He’s not only a goalscorer, he’s a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs. He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year”, Wenger said.
While not the big name Arsenal fans were expecting this transfer window, they will hope that their manager has unearthed another diamond in the rough.
