Scott Miller deserves another year at Newcastle
Since his arrival in the Hunter Valley in pre-season, Scott Miller has faced an uphill battle. Inheriting a squad who finished dead last the previous season and a fanbase lacking faith, Miller has worked hard all season to turn fortunes around on the pitch. The Jets were the better side for stretches of the game today, not just against their bogey side, but against the most in-form team in the league. Despite being eliminated from the finals race, Newcastle’s performances over the last month have been encouraging and prove the players are responding to Miller’s methods. Fixing the Jets was never going to be done overnight, but Miller has proved in the second half of the season is the right man for the job.
