Melbourne City

Thomas Sorenson – 6: Did not have a great deal to do but did it well in a quiet Sunday afternoon for the gloveman

Ivan Franjic – 7: Another useful display coming off his long injury layoff. Could be pressing for a Socceroos recall sooner rather than later

Patrick Kisnorbo – 6: Strong and sturdy as ever and led his men well again even though he was rarely tested

Connor Chapman (no rating) – Subbed-off early injured so no rating

Jack Clisby – 6: The sort of player who flies under the radar. Does not do anything spectacular, does not let his side down either

Jacob Melling – 7: A real tradesman-like effort from Melling. Did a lot of the dirty work to allow those around him to prosper

Erik Paartalu – 8: An absolute tower in midfield for City. One of the better players on the pitch both with and without possession.

Aaron Mooy – 9: Another game, another fine Aaron Mooy display. Controlled the tempo and hit the scoresheet. Looks to be a firm favourite for the Johnny Warren Medal on this form.

Stefan Mauk – 6: Lively without offering any real cutting edge, in all honesty though he didn’t have to.

Bruno Fornaroli – 9: The ‘Prickly Pear’ was his usual dangerous and crafty self. Got himself deservedly on the scoresheet with 2 neat finishes.

Harry Novillo – 8: Up there with Mooy for Man of the Match. Gave Jason Hoffman a torrid time and always looked likely.

Substitutes

Ben Garuccio – 8: A fine performance when he came on. The fact Alivodic was substituted early gives a good guide to how well he played.

Robbie Koren – 5: Did not do a great deal but will be better for the game time as he returns to full fitness.

Paulo Retre – 5: Sturdy and solid but like the rest of those deployed late on, he had an easy time of it as the damage was done.
