Vedran Janjetovic – 5: Some good moments, but still looks shaky when put under the pump. Positioning during dead ball attempts outside the box looked all kinds of wrong. And less said about the near post shot for the goal, the better.

Sebastian Ryall – 5.5: 150th appearance started with a booking, meaning he will miss next weekends clash with Melbourne City. Copped a bloody nose for his troubles too.

Jacques Faty – 2: Sent off just after the hour. Culminated with fouling on the edge of the box and once again gave Graham Arnold a huge headache – not for the right reasons. Absolutely terrible performance at the worst possible time, especially since being given the week off without a trip to Japan.

Matthew Jurman – 6.5: Thrives under the backs-against-the-wall scenario more times than not. Last ditch tackle saved the team 2 points.

Rhyan Grant – 4: Where is Ali Abbas? Tries hard, but isn’t up to speed at left back.

Brandon O’Neil – 5.5: Given the thankless task of filling in at centre half after Faty’s dismissal. A couple of early interceptions masked his early mistakes gifting the ball away.

Milos Ninkovic – 5.5: Watched most of the game with the ball flying everywhere but his feet, but came into it more in short bursts. Sydney will know they’re improving when he starts to dominate games, not just appear in tiny spells.

Filip Holosko – 5: Another reported injury won’t help matters. Looked threatening in moments, yet couldn’t get involved enough.

David Carney – 7: Scored from out of nowhere. One of the handful of Sydney players who gave the Victory defence something to think about.

Alex Brosque (c) – 6: Substituted in the 69th minute. Ran his heart out and the one or two times he had the ball, looked threatening. Must be getting sick and tired of leading this lot around.

Matt Simon – n/a: Substituted in the 18th minute due to a rib injury. Shock horror, probably contact instigated by the man himself. Late word from Fox Sports is that he suffered a “spleen injury.” Even worse.

Milos Dimitrijevic (substitute) – 5: Came on fairly early, but didn’t put a marker on the game. Had to sit behind the ball in a fairly defensive display.

Shane Smeltz (substitute) – n/a

Robert Stambolziev (substitute) – n/a
