Melbourne Victory

Danny Vukovic – 6: Will be disappointed with the goal at the near post, but looked decent without having to do too much.

Scott Galloway – 7: Quite tidy on the ball and shut down a lot of attacks down Sydney’s left. A promising performance.

Thomas Deng – 6.5: Had one or two sketchy moments, but continues to show how well Victory are doing bringing youth players through who don’t look overawed at the highest level of Australian domestic football.

Matthieu Delpierre – 7: A leader in defence – the rock that Melbourne build their game on from the back. Marshaled the game well without having to deal with too much from Sydney’s attack.

Daniel Georgievski – 5: Had a chance to win the game, foiled by a late challenge from Jurman. One of the few Victory players who looked below his best.

Leigh Broxham (c) – 6: Guilty of abandoning his post for Sydney’s goal, yet distributed well until that stage.

Rashid Mahazi – 7: Circulated the ball very well. Will never win a Best and Fairest award, but did the little things well in midfield just pushing it into space.

Gui Finkler – 7: Always looked a danger, whether from set piece or laying a through-ball to the attack. Not a classic performance from the Fink, but looked like he wanted to make a point to Muscat since his ACL snub.

Kosta Barbarouses – 7.5: Should have been sent off with his studs-up challenge on Ninkovic, but capitalised big time on his lifeline. Gave Rhyan Grant nightmares on the right wing and his goal was just reward for his attacking endeavor.

Fahid Ben Khalfallah – 5: Didn’t get involved enough. Ryall never looked under pressure from him, quite the surprise.

Besart Berisha – 5.5: Subbed off in the 83rd minute. Looked more interested in fighting and niggling Sydney than actually scoring.

Jai Ingham (substitute) – n/a

Archie Thompson (substitute) – n/a

Oliver Bozanic (substitute) – n/a: Great ball to put through Georgievski, but not on long enough.
