Veteran striker Alberto Gilardino denied the Nerazzurri a first win in their last four outings, with Roberto Mancini’s Inter having to settle for a 1-1 stalemate.

Palermo have held 10-man Inter Milan to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Saturday night, with Ivan Perišic and Gilardino hitting the back of the net for their respective sides.

After a drab first half, the Nerazzurri hit the lead thanks to Croatian winger Perišic, who got on the end of a dangerously driven cross from substitute Jonathan Biabiany on the hour mark.

Inter’s lead only lasted six minutes, as Italian World Cup winner Gilardino deflected the ball into the back of the net off his knee after Franco Vázquez drilled a cross-cum-shot towards goal.

Ultimately, some Stefano Sorrentino heroics in goal for the Rosanero ensured Inter did not leave with the three points and return to the summit of the Serie A table.
