Adelaide United’s stuttering start to 2015-16 continued with a 3-1 away defeat at the hands of Perth Glory earlier tonight.
A frustrated South Australian outfit has recorded just two points in the first three weeks, after some heavy prolificacy in front of goal was punished at the NiB stadium.
The ball spent the majority of the 90 minutes inside the visitors’ attacking-third, yet Perth took the lead just moments before halftime when Sidnei Sciola finished off a brilliant delivery from Sidnei Sciola. Adelaide would stay strong in possession and control the midfield into the latter stages, but clear chances were not taken, while the Glory devastated on the counter-attack and added two more in the second-half from Guyon Fernandez and Diego Castro.
A Diogo Ferreira own goal provided some hope, but things never looked to be going Adelaide’s favour.
United fans were left lamenting numerous missed opportunities and after three unsatisfactory results, questions are beginning to be asked. On the other hand, the Perth faithful were delighted the team has continued their recent momentum with a first A-League win of the season.

3 games in and there’s been 2 OG and about 4 shots on target. I think that’s officially warning signs for this season #PERvADL #AUFC — Brett Schembri (@brettschembri) October 25, 2015
I don’t know what’s bigger; the win, WSW being bottom again, or owning the desert? #THEDESERTISOURS #PERvADL #PGFC

Good win for Per, as their start of the season is going along nicely. For Adl it could get worse if things don’t improve ASAP #PERvADL — William Caldwell (@Will_Caldwell10) October 25, 2015
@AdelaideUnited 3 game report: Uninspired, unenergetic, disconnected and lacking firepower. Can only get better from here. #PERvADL #COYR
