A game that was hyped by many to be one of the more memorable from this season’s early Champions League candidates turned into a very lacklustre 0-0 draw.
Not quite the free-flowing attacking battle many were expecting, there was little to celebrate for either team’s attacking players. Jese Rodriguez and Cristiano Ronaldo came the closest for the visitors, while Edinson Cavani had the best chance for the home team.
Both sides were missing players due to injury, most notably Madrid who were without Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.
