Arsenal’s home record

The Gunners continued their fine form at the Emirates, having taken 16 points from a possible 18 in their last six home fixtures. They have lost only once at home this season, which came in a shock surprise to West Ham United on the opening day of the season. Since then Arsenal have been on top of their game on home soil, drawing two and winning five of their eight outings in North London. Arsene Wenger will be hopeful his side will be able to continue their strong home record especially through the busy Christmas period, if they have any chance to catch-up to the high-flying Leicester City.

Olivier Giroud continues to score

After a slow start to the season, Olivier Giroud seems to have sprung to life after scoring his 10th goal in the league for 2015-16. The Frenchman scored his 14th goal in all competitions this season and now stands fifth on the scoring charts. The 29-year-old had a fantastic time around in 2014-15, but many critics stated that he could not carry on his free-scoring run after a poor start to the season. With the European Championships coming up in a few months’ time, Giroud will be eager to keep up this scoring habit and cement his place in the France starting XI.

The league table

The Premier League continues to surprise us this season with a number of surprising results this week itself. Manchester United’s shocking loss at home to Norwich City was followed Watford’s surprising win over Liverpool. Leicester City continued their good run of form with a crucial and difficult win at Everton. Champions Chelsea ended their poor league run with a comfortable 3-1 home victory against relegation-threatened Sunderland.
