Manchester City’s shambolic defence
Without Vicent Kompany, City’s back line is weaker. However they have more then enough quality to thwart the majority of the English Premier League. Martin Demichelis, Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi are all more than capable of doing the job.
The first two produced some horrid defence which gifted Liverpool goals. The Reds’ first was an own goal off the foot of Mangala, however it looked as though he had money on the game because it seemed as though it could have been avoided.
The third Liverpool goal and Firmino’s first for the club originated from some lazy City passing and then some lazy tracking from Bacary Sagna which afforded Coutinho plenty of space to lay it off to his partner in crime. The biggest question mark on City’s defending fell back to Pellegrini’s decision to leave Otamendi on the sidelines. Why?
