It was a miserable night for QPR at Craven Cottage after a one-sided 4-0 defeat to a rampaging Fulham last night.

The Lilywhites were dominant from the outset, going ahead after just two minutes when James Husband found the head of Moussa Dembele six-yards from goal. Summer signing Ben Pringle then doubled the hosts’ lead on 19 minutes, finding the bottom right from the edge of the box.

Rangers saw several chances of their own squandered, with Charlie Austin and Massimo Luongo finding themselves in space early on. The result, however, seemed inevitable when Ross McCormack made it 3-0 before the half. Chris Ramsey responded by bringing on the tenacious Jamie Mackie for Tjaronn Chery. Mackie’s appearance was short-lived though, as he failed to return after half time.

Despite this, QPR appeared to start the second-half with better intentions, finding some good width on the pitch. Full-back James Perch went close from inside the box, while Paul Konchesky forced a save out of Fulham goalkeeper Andy Lonergan with a diving header. The visitors took their foot of the gas when talisman Austin limped-off on the hour mark, replaced by Daniel Tozser, struggling to recuperate and a moment later McCormack found the net again, after Gabriele Angella hit his own crossbar.

It finished 4-0 but Fulham could have put six past their West London rivals in a game the Hoops will want to quickly forget.
