A stellar performance saw Tom Rogic named named as Man of the Match in Celtic’s 4-1 destruction of Aberdeen FC overnight.

The Socceroos midfielder’s stoppage time free-kick goal was a fitting way to cap off the victory, which saw the Hoops reclaim top spot on the Scottish Premier League table.

A central figure to every attacking move, the 23-year-old was also instrumental in the build-up which saw James Forrest score just before halftime to put Celtic up 2-1, after Leigh Griffiths netted an early opener and Aberdeen equalised against the run of play.

A converted penalty put things beyond doubt after the visitors were reduced to 10 men, before Rogic curled in a stunning free-kick to seal a ruthless 90 minutes.

“I thought it was arguably our best result of the season just because of everything that has happened before it,” said manager Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic can look now forward to the blockbuster clash with Rangers FC  which comes after the international break, sitting above their rivals by a point with an extra game to play.
