Verona were no match

This match really showed why Verona are still the only team without a win in the League, even with last placed Carpi having one as well as a draw against the weekend’s opponents Napoli. Some of the statistics from this match really showed how little chance they got in this game, with the visitors holding 72% of possession. Any team will struggle to win with only 28% of the ball.

Another alarming stat for Verona was their passing. Only completing 64% is just not good enough at the top level and teams like Napoli or Inter Milan will make you pay for that. The shot count was 22-3 in Napoli’s favour, although at least Verona made use of their chances, which all were saved.

The Serie A still too close to call

Napoli now sit in a tied-second place with Fiorentina and Roma jus one point behind, while Inter Milan sits alone at the top at the moment two points clear on 30. One slight outsider, which is unusual to say, is Juventus. Although having a very poor start to the season, with most people ruling them out of the title race early, they are now starting to pick up the momentum and have now moved up to sixth place on 21 points, now within reaching distance of the other teams above them.

Juventus is far from out of it , however, if Napoli, Inter and Fiorentina can continue their form, the champions could struggle to catch them if they drop too many more matches.
