Muriel becoming a constant menace for Serie A opponents
It was not long ago that the Colombian striker – former winner of the Serie A Revelation of the Year along with Stephan El Shaarawy in 2012 – was mooted with a move to Liverpool as a replacement for Luis Suárez, who looked likely to be trading Anfield for North London and Arsenal.
However, following numerous spells on the sidelines, weight issues and more than enough minutes on the bench at Udinese, Muriel was looking likely to become another promising youngster who had gone under the radar.
A loan move to Samp followed by a permanent move prior to the season’s opening, however, seems to have revived the Deportivo Cali youth product’s career, and he is thriving with the Blucerchiati, having netted his third of the season against Mancini’s men.
