Inter show title credentials
With doubts remaining over Inter’s chances of winning the Scudetto, the match against a Napoli side that had already shown its title credentials in recent weeks provided the Nerazzurri the perfect platform in which to prove the doubters wrong.
Some may point to the fact Mancini’s men were unable to even claim a single point from their opponents, who were admittedly far from their scintillating best for periods of the match, however Inter’s ability to control much of the second half with one less man on the pitch displayed the side’s desire and ability whilst also showing how adaptable Mancini is as a manager and a tactician.
Despite being on the losing end of a 2-1 result, the Nerazzurri were unfortunate to not come away with something from the match, having hit the post twice in the dying seconds of the game as well as creating other chances.
Inter may have lost, however they showed they are capable of challenging for the Scudetto with an encouraging all-round team performance against Napoli, who have arguably been the league’s best in 2015-16.
