Luck finally falls the way of Carpi

Saturday the 3rd of October 2015 will forever be an historic day for Carpi, recording their first ever win in the Italian top flight.

Commendable performances against both Palermo and Napoli saw the Biancorossi fall just short of three points, but the luck finally turned in their favour against a Torino side on the rise. A fortuitous deflection off Daniele Padelli followed by a wonderful header from Ryder Matos was enough to seal the win, just one week after the sacking of manager Fabrizio Castori.

Verona derby less than impressive

The match between Chievo and Verona is not the most popular derby on the Serie A calendar and unfortunately it lives up to the low standard on the majority of occasions. Both teams opt to play a counter-attacking style of play which forces possession towards the opposing team, however, when neither take control it results in a rather lackluster match. Verona will be happy to take a point from the clash as their struggles continue, meanwhile Chievo will be disappointed with the result given their recent form.
