AS Roma and Inter Milan played out a heavyweight 1-1 draw at Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.

Which players shone brightest as both teams sought a vital win for differing reasons?

For Inter, there were crucial contributions at either end of the field as they took home one point.

Ivan Peresic (Inter Milan) – The in-form Croatian was a constant threat down the left flank all night. Peresic’s most important contribution to the game was his opening goal, where he beautifully struck past Szczesny at the far post.

Samir Handanovic (Inter Milan) – The Slovenian has been the Nerazzuri’s saviour for the past four seasons, and this match was no different. Handanovic made crucial saves especially in the dying minutes of the game to help his team take a point back to Milan.

Radja Nainggolan (Roma) – The scorer of the equaliser was his usually brutal self, breaking up play, tracking back and winning the ball in midfield. The Belgian was also crucial to beginning counter-attacks and he distributed the ball quite well.
