In his 618th and final Premier League game, Frank Lampard opened the scoring at the Etihad with his 177th goal in a match that saw Manchester City beat Southampton 2-0.

Sergio Agüero also capped-off his EPL Golden Boot winning season with his 26th goal of the campaign in the 88th minute after Lampard’s 33rd minute opener, in what seemed a relatively comfortable win for this season’s second place finishers.

Outside90 club correspondent Jackson Delmenico takes a look at the best individual performances at both ends of the pitch.

Manchester City

Joe Hart – 6.5: Did not have much work to do but what he did, he did well.

Pablo Zabaleta – 6: Not look overly comfortable with the pace of Shane Long or Sadio Mané but was solid throughout.

Aleksandar Kolarov – 6: Rarely troubled by Southampton’s attack but conversely failed to cause any trouble for their defence.

Martin Demichelis – 7: Dominant in the centre of defence, kept Graziano Pellè to a quiet afternoon.

Eliaquim Mangala – 7: Strong in the air and did well partnering Demichelis. Assisted Agüero with a header back across goal.

Frank Lampard – 7.5: Typical good ball usage and clinical finishing in the Englishman’s last game. Substituted off in the 77th minute for Jesús Navas.

James Milner – 7.5: Ever hard working, Milner created a few chances getting the assist for Lampard’s goal. Substituted off in the 79th minute for Vincent Kompany.

Fernandinho -6.5: Did well sweeping across the front of his defence and distributed the ball with accuracy to start many of City’s attacks.

Yaya Touré – 6.5: Fairly quiet by the Ivorian’s lofty standards, but was useful on the ball and created some space with his movement. Substituted off in the 66th minute for Wilfried Bony.

David Silva -7: Typical class from the Spanish midfielder who featured in the opening goal and was the instigator of many of City’s best attacking moves.

Sergio Agüero – 7: Created chance after chance in the game, a constant danger to the Southampton defence, but was far from clinical in his finishing.

Substitutes

Wilfried Bony – 5.5: Looked like he could provide some threat to goal but did not test Davis after coming on for Touré in the 66th minute.

Jesús Navas – 5: Had little to say in proceedings after replacing Lampard in the 77th minute.

Vincent Kompany – 5: Came on just to see out City’s win.

Southampton

Kelvin Davis – 7: Made several fantastic saves and could not have done much with either goal. Did have a few sloppy moments.

Nathaniel Clyne -6: Tidy use of the ball and was not tested too much defensively.

Ryan Bertrand -6: Put in a handful of crosses but none amounted to much. Possibly gave Milner too much space to cross to Lampard for opening goal.

José Fonte – 6: Struggled to deal with the pace of Agüero and was caught out on a number of occasions.

Toby Alderweireld – 6: Similarly to Fonte, Alderweireld could not handle the pace and dribbling ability of the Argentinian top goal scorer.

Steven Davis – 6: Worked hard but struggled to put together any meaningful possession in midfield. Substituted off in the 76th minute for Eljero Elia.

Victor Wanyama – 7: Endeavoured to win the ball from a dominant City midfield and did well on a number of occasions to break up the play.

Filip Djuricic – 5.5: Tidy on the ball but showed no creative flair in his time on the park. Left the pitch in the 59th for James Ward-Prowse.

Sadio Mané – 6: Failed to replicate last week’s hat-trick performance though looked lively at times dribbling at City’s defence.

Shane Long – 6.5: Created opportunities for himself but his finishing let him down. Low shot straight at Hart in the first half highlight of his match.

Graziano Pellè – 5: Passenger in the game and was caught offside too often, never looked like grabbing a goal.

Substitutes

James Ward-Prowse – 5: No significant contribution after replacing Djuricic in the 59th minute.

Eljero Elia – 5: Did not feature much in the closing stages after coming on for Steven Davis in the 76th minute.
