Southampton
Paulo Gazzaniga – 6: Little he could do to stop thegoal that was conceded. He kept his side in the game with some good saves.
Jose Fonte – 5: Should have gotten across to prevent Bolasie from getting the cross into the box for Cabaye goal. He did work hard to close Zaha down too.
Maya Yoshida – 5: Had a difficult game against Bolasie before being replaced by Tadic in the 67th minute.
Virgil Van Dijk – 6: Was the better of the Saints defenders stepping in to break up some of Palace’s promising looking attacks.
Ryan Bertrand – 5: Managed to close down Zaha on a couple of occasions, but offered nothing in attack.
Victor Wanyama – 5: Had little influence on the play in both attack and defence.
Cedric Soares – 6: Allowed Cabaye too much space in the box, which was ultimately used to score.
Oriol Romeu – 5: Another player who had a quiet game before he was replaced by James Ward-Prowse.
Sadio Mane – 6: Was able to get some decent crosses into the box and had a decent chance to catch the Palace defence asleep, but it went to waste
Steven Davis – 7: Had the best chance of the game for the Saints when his header was denied by Hennessey.
Shane Long – 6: Had some decent chance late in the game to equalise, but missed both attempts.

Substitutes
Graziano Pelle – 5: Replaced Davis in the 67th minute to try and bring the game level.
Dusan Tadic – 5: Another player brought on to try and salvage a point for Ronald Koeman.
James Ward-Prowse – N/A: Came on late and made no impact on the game.
