Fox Sports commentator Adam Peacock says Chelsea are still clearly benchmark ahead of this weekend’s opening Premier League fixtures.

While most, if not all of the clubs on the Blues’ tail have added to their squad via the transfer market, Peacock says Chelsea’s squad stability should not be “underestimated”.

“The fact that he [Jose Mourinho] has been able to turn over his squad without going ballistic in terms of spending money is just quite remarkable,” he said.

“The choices that Mourinho has made since he’s come back to club, just about every one of them has been the right move.”

‘They’re the team to beat again.”

Peacock is also optimistic that Manchester United can challenge for the title, pointing to the players they have brought in as perhaps a catalyst for a title charge.

“I think they can [challenge for the title]. A few things have to go right for them,” he said.

“They have bought very well and they have bought for now.”

He also spoke of Raheem Sterling’s unceremonious exit from Liverpool as a sign of the times, Arsenal’s new-look maturity and everything else English Premier League.
